Description

5kg Bag of lava rock – enough to cover an area approx 1,800 cms sq.

Lava rock should be placed one layer deep, just enough to cover the burner tubes.

Do not place lava rock on top of the pilot cage.

Lava rock is porous and holds moisture. If you light the burner with wet lava rock, the moisture inside turns to steam quickly and can cause the rock to pop and crack. It may even spit small pieces out of the firepit.  Once the lava rock has dried out, this is no longer a problem.

For new installations, the lava rock may be wet, so it’s best to remove it from the bags and allow to dry out before placing it on the burner.  Alternatively, place the rocks on the burner and light it. The heat will burn off the moisture quite quickly.  During this time keep away from the firepit, and make sure there are no cushions nearby that any spitting rocks could land on.

Cover the rocks when not in use to keep them dry.

Our burner has been tested and CE approved safe for use only with lava rock. Do not replace the lava rock with anything else as this could cause the burner to stop working.
