We recommend taking advise from a local gas engineer when installing any of our burners, especially if you are planning to lay underground gas pipes or connecting to the main gas supply. Most competent builders will be able to install the burner. They must read the product installation manual and follow all fire pit design principles.

All our burner kits and gas fire pits are available for natural mains gas or bottled LPG propane gas.  Please ensure you select the desired gas type when ordering. We recommend getting a gas engineer involved when connecting to the mains gas supply. A gas capacity check is required when installing multiple natural gas burners. Each burner is 18kw. The twin rectangle unit is 36kw.

Unfortunately we cannot change the dimensions of our burner kits as the product is CE approved in its current size and form. If you want a larger fire, you could install multiple burners. Each kit would operate independently with their own control box. For multiple natural gas installations, please check the property’s spare gas capacity.

Each burner will require a (minimum) 19kg propane gas bottle. These are around 80cm tall. You can also connect to a larger 47kg bottle. Both of these bottles require a screw on regulator. Please enquire with your local gas bottle stockist.

It is extremely important that a regulator with the correct rating is used. The burner requires a regulator with a rating of 37mbar (millibar) and 4kg. Using a different regulator may damage the appliance and cause a gas leak.

We supply two 5kg bags of lava rock, which is the perfect amount to cover the burner. If the pit is larger than the burner, additional lava rock can be purchased.  One 5kg bag will cover 1800²cm. Lava rock should only be placed one layer deep, and none should be covering the pilot cage. Excess rocks will limit the flame size, and can cause the burner to overheat.

Our burners have been tested and approved for use with the lava rock that we supply. No other ‘toppings’ should be used, such as ceramic pebbles, logs or fire glass. This can lead to issues with cross lighting and cause a gas leak. The burner may also overheat and fail.

We advise against using a glass screen with our burner kits. They can block the heat reaching you and the glass can stay very hot, for a long time after the burner is switched off. This can create a hazard, especially for children. Screens can also reduce the airflow reaching the burner, which can cause the flames to be smaller.

We do not have a dedicated showroom. However, we do have a small demonstration area in the corner of our workshop in New Milton, Hampshire, where you can see and feel a working fire pit. Please contact us to arrange an appointment.
