Ben’s Fire Pit

This was an old prototype burner installed into an octagonal wooden firepit.

We would not normal recommend building a firepit from wood, or directly on decking, however the pit was a lot larger than the burner, and it had insulation inside to protect the deck.   The burner rested on stone blocks, and there was a metal mesh to support the lava rock. 

Ventilation holes were added afterwards.  Amy helped to install the burner and it looks like the whole job was completed in a day.
